Difficulty is (foolishly) set to 6. The King Of Fighters 99 is the 6th game in the series and the beginning of the 2nd arc in the series, the NESTS Chronicles. Also the Introduction of the new Protagonist K' along with Maxima, Whip, Jhun Hoon, Li Xiangfei and (Ugh..) Bao. This is where it gets hard! Stage 16 features 16 Legards (Deflector Invaders that can err... deflect your shots). This is the stage that can VERY easily kill the game off. All it needs is just one Legard (or his cronies) to "invade" and phoom! all your Xerovys are dust. There's an apparent bug in stages 17, 18 and 20 where one invader goes in the opposite direction of the others! Also, I stop playing after stage 20 as the game loops round from 21 onwards.
